Golden City Odyssey

An epic 35-mile walk across San Francisco, divided into five 5- to 9-mile loops.
Our epic 35-mile Golden City Odyssey walk, divided into 5- to 9-mile loops, will guide participants through mini parks, lakes, and beautiful Bay vistas, historical tidbits, and recommended rest stops. Like our popular Peak2Peak walk, even the most intrepid urban hikers will discover new sides of the city.
The five loops are between five to nine miles each and take an estimated two to three hours each to complete. You can create your own adventure by combining loops in one day or completing each loop separately.
Our wonderful WalkLab volunteers (Marilyn Adamson, Nancy Botkin, Eric Chase, Andrew Greenberg, and Karen Rhodes) have meticulously created a map and turn-by-turn directions.
Purchasing a ticket to the Golden City Odyssey will directly power Walk SF’s pedestrian advocacy – including pushing for more slow and car-free spaces in San Francisco!

Be advised: These walks may include uneven paths, dirt trails, and stairways, as well as street terrain.
The Golden City Odyssey is self-guided. All participants will receive a link to access a digital map automatically via email within a few days of purchase. Participants who opt in for a physical map should receive ot within 7-10 days of purchase. Physical maps are limited to 150 copies, so make sure to buy your ticket while supplies last!
