SFMTA Board Meeting: Support the Twin Peaks Car-Free Area
April 17, 2018 @ 1:00 pm
The top of Twin Peaks now has a car-free area for people to walk, ride bikes, and enjoy in safety. Though it’s a place people hike and has some of the most spectactular views in the city, this area used to have no safe space for walking. It used to be a place where people were literally run off the road.
The transformation has been wonderful. But it’s not permanent, because this has been a pilot (experimental) project by SFMTA.
Help the city extend the pilot and work towards a permanent plan! Come to the April 17 SFMTA meeting and voice your support for a permanent car-free space on Twin Peaks. You can also write a letter to the SFMTA board (by Monday 4/16 if possible) and/or your Supervisor saying how much you like being able to be on Twin Peaks safely without cars.
