Walk SF members are invited to join us on Wednesday, February 28 for an exclusive happy hour with Jon Orcutt of TransitCenter.
Jon has been a leader in sustainable urban transportation for 30 years. He spent seven years as Policy Director under Janette Sadik-Khan at the New York City DOT, managing Vision Zero and more, and was Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives, New York City’s pedestrian/bicycle/transit advocacy group. Jon is now empowering advocates across the country through his work at TransitCenter, a foundation dedicated to urban mobility.
TransitCenter is funding Walk SF and SF Transit Riders to test new ways to combine advocacy for better walking and better public transit, since all transit riders are pedestrians too! Too often, the needs of the thousands of people who walk or take the bus every day are not heard over the requests of fewer, more vocal drivers. In 2018, Walk SF and Transit Riders will be lifting up more of these unheard voices, so decision-makers listen — and act.
