Monthly Walk: Inner Sunset Green Benefit District

March 25, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join us for a lively and educational walk exploring a range of public spaces throughout the Inner Sunset, learning about a new tool to improve them, and ending up at the local farmers’ market!

As we walk, we’ll hear from local experts about an exciting new invention, the Green Benefit District, and what it could provide for the Inner Sunset — and maybe other neighborhoods too. Our tour leaders are Andrea Jadwin and Lillian Archer, both local residents and members of the Green Benefit District Formation Committee, and Brooke Ray Rivera, Executive Director of Place Lab.

Our route will take us to the parks, sidewalks, and stairways that are poised to receive funding from the proposed Inner Sunset Green Benefit District. The new district would enable neighbors to directly invest in improving the neighborhood, including sidewalk greening and cleaning, pedestrian safety features, and enhanced connections between the 9th and Irving commercial corridor and Golden Gate Park.

When: Sunday, March 25, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Where: Meet at the 9th Ave & Lincoln entrance to Golden Gate Park, northwest corner, closest to the County Fair building. The tour will end at the Inner Sunset Farmer’s Market.

Info: Please bring layers, sun/rain protection as appropriate, your walking shoes, and questions about Green Benefit Districts!

Walk space is limited; $10 minimum donation to Walk SF; RSVP required.
