Hiking the Hills, Stairs, and Dales of Diamond Heights and Glen Park

Join walk leader and Exercise Physiologist Aaron Dence, of TRAINER San Francisco, for an exploration of some of the city’s unique and lesser-known neighborhoods, parks, stairs, trails, and open spaces.
The walk will start in Glen Canyon (refer to WHERE below) and wind its way up and down a number of paths and stairways, and pass through a number o f parks and open spaces, including: Glen Canyon Park, Billy Goat Hill Park, Fairmont Plaza, Dorothy W. Erskine Park, Baden and Joost Street Mini Park, the Arlington Path, and the Topaz and Berkeley Way Open Spaces.
Walk highlights will include a stop at Sunny Side Conservatory, a local botanical jewel, the charming and “off-the-beaten-path” Harry Steps, and opportunities to spot red-tailed hawks or great horned owls. Take in a little history along the route, and enjoy an an invigorating, nearly 3.5 mile nature hike.

When: Walk SF’s monthly members walk begins on Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Walk will proceed rain or shine, barring high winds or dangerous weather.

What to bring:
- Wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes
- Carry rain gear and sunhat as needed
- Stock sunblock, water, and personal snacks
