Rally to save car-free JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park

Help show city leaders that so many people love car-free JFK Drive!
Come out in support of safe, healthy, climate-friendly space for everyone in our city’s biggest park.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on the future of car-free JFK Drive this spring, and its fate is anything but certain.
On Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00AM-11:15AM, we’ll meet on car-free JFK Drive near the Conservatory of Flowers to show the huge amount of support for making this space permanent.
The rally will be a lot of fun, with dragon dancers, roller skating performances, arts and crafts and more!
Wear red to show your ❤ for car-free JFK and celebrate Lunar New Year!

Rally details
We’ll gather on car-free JFK Drive where it intersects with Pompei Circle between the Conservatory of Flowers and Peacock Meadow
- 10:00AM: Activities for all ages hosted by rally partners including arts and crafts, roller skating performances, and lion dancers
- 10:20AM: Speeches by people who care about this space for all kinds of reasons
- District 6 Supervisor Matt Haney
- District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman
- Marta Lindsey, Walk San Francisco
- Janelle Wong, San Francisco Bicycle Coalition
- Amandeep Jawa, San Francisco League of Conservation Voters
- Ruth Malone, professor emerita of nursing and health policy at UCSF. Ruth is a senior and person with mobility challenges.
- Wesley Tam, Urban Environmentalists (speaking in English and Cantonese)
- Rebecca Cordes, Registered Nurse, UCSF Children’s Emergency Department
- David Miles Jr., Church of 8 Wheels. David has been a leader in the fight for a car-free JFK Drive since 1982.
- 10:50AM: March and roll together down JFK Drive! We’ll take photos and videos to send to city leaders.
