San Francisco is 7 x 7 miles. Ever thought of walking the entire perimeter? You’re in luck! Circle the City is an incredible journey that takes you around the entire city over six separate segments.

Our WalkLab volunteers have once again put together an incomparable route with Circle the City. The walk will take you through lesser-known ways around the city’s edge and areas unfamiliar to tourists and most locals, from urban areas to stunning open spaces.

Our journey will also explore the southern border where San Francisco hugs Daly City and the county line, as well as new developments in the city’s southeastern corner.

Every walk will feature beautiful vistas and explore the diversity of San Francisco’s neighborhoods.

The six segments range from 5-8 miles and take an estimated 3-5 hours each. Each segment will start and end at major public transportation hubs.

This walking adventure is not only a memorable way to experience our city – your participation directly supports Walk SF’s urgent advocacy on behalf of everyone who walks.

Be advised: These walks may include uneven paths, dirt trails, and stairways, as well as street terrain.

Due to Covid restrictions, Circle the City is self-guided. All participants will receive a digital map via email within a few days of your purchase. If you wish to receive a physical map, orders will arrive 4-10 days after your purchase.
