How to Win Safe Streets for Seniors – Part 1
May 7, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Do you ever feel like crossing the streets is a game of risk? Come learn how to advocate for safe streets for seniors like you.
In the first part of a two-part online training, we’ll discuss what makes streets unsafe for us currently. Then we’ll focus on how streets can be changed to provide safer intersections and slower streets that work for all of us. Additionally, we’ll discuss the city’s Vision Zero efforts to end traffic deaths and serious injuries generally along with how you can make your voice heard.
All attendees will be entered to win prizes included Safeway gift cards and SF walking maps during the training.
In the second part of this online training, we’ll discuss how you can assess the safety of your nearby streets and intersections and use materials from Walk SF to gather data to make your case.
Walk SF Safe Streets for Seniors trainings are free thanks to support from the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
