Circle the City: A Six Part Walking Series

San Francisco is 7 x 7 miles. Ever thought of walking the entire perimeter?
Walk San Francisco’s brand-new walk in 2020 is Circle the City: an incredible and fascinating journey that will circumnavigate the entire city over the course of six separate walks.
Our WalkLab volunteers have once again put together an incomparable route with Circle the City.
We will explore lesser known ways around the city’s edge and pass through areas unfamiliar to tourists and even most locals, from urban areas to stunning open spaces.
Our journey will also explore the southern border where San Francisco hugs Daly City and the county line, as well as new developments in the city’s southeastern corner.
Every walk will feature beautiful vistas and explore the diversity of San Francisco’s neighborhoods. Starting in March, we’ll do one segment per month, finishing the entire route in August.
You’ll have the option of 1st or 3rd Saturday each month. The six segments range from 5.5 – 8.5 miles and take an estimated 3-5 hours each. Each segment will start and end at major public transportation hubs. Kids and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Walk 6 options: August 1 / August 15
Note: This special event is different from our monthly walks, which are free for Walk SF members.
Be advised: These walks may include uneven paths, dirt trails, and stairways, as well as street terrain. Participants must be able to walk for several hours at a steady pace.
This walking adventure is not only a memorable way to experience our city, but you’ll connect with others who love to walk and want to make our streets safe for all. Plus, your participation directly supports Walk SF’s urgent advocacy on behalf of everyone who walks.
