Street fairs are the perfect place to grab holiday gifts for loved ones (or yourself!), support small businesses, explore a new part of the city, and be in community.

So bundle up and get out there to enjoy car-free spaces with live music, crafts, and more!

Here’s our recommended list of upcoming street fairs in San Francisco:

Our beloved JFK Promenade will become a holiday hoopla on Thursday, December 4 from 4:00 to 8:00PM as part of the City’s official holiday tree lighting event!

With free carnival rides, activities, entertainment, plus food trucks, this annual event is a magical one. And you can keep walking along JFK Promenade almost to Crossover Drive to check out Naga, the gorgeous sea serpent who glows at night below Rainbow Falls.

Hayes Valley Holiday Stroll

The 35th Annual Hayes Valley Holiday Stroll on Friday, December 5 from 5:00 – 9:00PM is a perfect opportunity to explore the over 200 merchants, restaurants, and art galleries in Hayes Valley. There will be something for everyone, including performances from local bands and the legendary Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Lower Polk Holiday Market

The Lower Polk Holiday Market is on Saturday, December 6 from 12:00 to 4:00PM. This free event will open Fern Street between Polk and Larkin for people to browse local businesses and enjoy yummy food. Dogs are strongly encouraged to attend.

Plus, there will be the chance to take a photo with Santa and live music from neo-soul band Tori Roze & The Hot Mess.

Inner Sunset Holiday Lights Stroll

The fifth annual Inner Sunset Holiday Lights Stroll is this Saturday, December 6, from 5:00 to 8:00PM. This family-friendly event will feature trolley rides, a neighborhood scavenger hunt, and special deals from local merchants.

The highlight of the event are the festive storefront windows, with moving mannequins bringing each scene to life.

Chinatown Winter Wonderland

This dazzling event will transform the two blocks of Grant Street between Sacramento and Washington into a Winter Wonderland, complete with family-friendly crafts, free toys, and the opportunity to hop aboard Santa’s Choo-Choo Train. Be sure to check it out on Sunday, December 7 between 11:00AM and 4:00PM

Haight Street Holiday Block Party

Want to shop small this holiday season? Be sure to check out the 6th annual “Holidays on the Hill” event on Sunday, December 14th from 11:00AM to 4:00PM in the Bernal Heights neighborhood.

This annual event was started during the pandemic for neighbors to connect with each other and support local artists and businesses. There will be activities and vendors all up and down and around Cortland Street.

Winter Walk at Union Square

Winter Walk is a beloved annual tradition that transforms Stockton Street between Post and O’Farrell into the ultimate festive destination. This year, Winter Walk will feature food trucks, an art fair curated by West Coast Craft, live performances, and seasonal drinks.
