Welcome back to our executive director, Jodie Medeiros!

 In Uncategorized

Walk SF’s executive director, Jodie Medeiros, is back on the scene after a well-deserved, four-month sabbatical.

We know that Jodie’s time away involved some walking (of course), including on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

And while Jodie was gone, Walk SF was up to something big: getting the Street Safety Act unanimously passed by the Board of Supervisors

The Street Safety Act is a blueprint for getting our city to design and enforce streets that truly keep everyone safe. It lays out how traffic safety can happen systematically and at scale, with crucial commitments and accountability for City agencies to deliver results.

I can’t wait to brief Jodie on what happened (and what’s next), and share how much our community, partners, and Supervisor Melgar stepped up to get the Street Safety Act passed.

On behalf of the Walk SF team, I also want to share my thanks to our interim executive director, Margaret McCarthy. Margaret jumped right in with everything from our advocacy to administrative needs, bringing amazing experience and energy on many fronts. She even led some chants at the protest of private vehicles returning to Market Street!

Finally, thank you to our wonderful Board of Directors for their support before and during Jodie’s sabbatical.
