Welcoming interim executive director Margaret McCarthy
We are excited to share that on June 1, Walk SF executive director Jodie Medeiros started a well-deserved sabbatical to rest and recharge after 7+ years leading our small but mighty organization. While Jodie is on sabbatical, we are thrilled to welcome Margaret McCarthy as interim executive director for the next four months.
Margaret is a seasoned nonprofit leader who has previously served as executive and co-director of Southern Exposure, and as interim executive director of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.
With over a decade of experience leading long-term organizational strategy, communications, and fundraising at Bay Area nonprofits working for social change, Margaret is the perfect fit for this role.
“Walk SF’s work to make San Francisco the safest, most walkable city in the U.S. is incredibly vital,” says McCarthy. “I’ve been a proud member of Walk SF for years, and I’m honored to work with this talented staff and dedicated board to help continue to push for safer streets and communities during the sabbatical period.”
We are eternally grateful to our members and partners for your continued support as we navigate this change. You can support Walk SF’s continued advocacy by making a donation today.
