How has dangerous speeding affected you? We want to hear your story!

When drivers go dangerous speeds, the risk for you, me, and our loved ones skyrockets.

Speed is the #1 cause of severe and fatal traffic crashes in San Francisco. The faster a driver is going, the more likely a crash is to occur – and the more serious the consequences – especially if you’re outside a vehicle.

That’s why Walk SF worked for six years to pass legislation allowing San Francisco to pilot speed cameras. With speed cameras coming to 33 locations in early 2025, we need the broader public to understand why this is great news and need even more solutions to bring down dangerous speeds across the city.

Your speeding-related story can help. We want to better reach the media, decision-makers, and the broader public (especially drivers!) with stories about why speeding is so dangerous and harmful to our communities.

We are looking for all perspectives and will only share your story with your permission. 

Maybe you’ve experienced a close call with a speeding driver. Maybe you’re like our Board member Paul, who’s witnessed multiple speed-related crashes from his front window on Fulton Street. Maybe you’re worried about your child walking to school. Or maybe you or someone you know has been hurt by a speeding driver.
