Are safer streets and a more walkable, livable San Francisco important to you? Are you interested in learning more about advocacy, outreach, transportation, urban planning, or how non-profit organizations work? Whether you’ve got a few hours a month or you want to tackle a project in depth, Walk San Francisco has plenty of great volunteer opportunities.

Plus, this year’s annual, citywide celebration of walking in San Francisco — Walk to Work Day — is Thursday, April 6.

There are plenty of fun ways to help, sign up to volunteer:

  • Be an ambassador at a Hub the morning of the event (Hubs are sidewalk sites where people can get free coffee or snacks, other giveaways, and become Walk SF members)
  • Hang posters and way-finding signs
  • Stuff employer toolkits and help prepare Hub materials
