Do you love to walk? Are safer streets and a more walkable, livable San Francisco important to you? Are you interested in learning more about advocacy, outreach, transportation, urban planning, or how non-profit organizations work? Whether you’ve got a few hours a month or you want to tackle a project in depth, Walk San Francisco has plenty of great volunteer opportunities.

Ambassadors: Help out at Sunday Streets, Farmers’ Markets and other community events. It’s a guaranteed good time as you hand out sidewalk chalk, talk with folks, and act as a spokesperson  for Walk SF to build the voice for pedestrians in our city. Email us to volunteer.

Walk Leaders: All our walks are volunteer-led and volunteer-organized. Lead one of your own themed tours. Walk leaders have taken Walk SF members and the members of the public around the Mission, through the “Trendyloin,” up and over Russian Hill, through Golden Gate Park, and along SoMa alleyways. Where will you take us? Email us to volunteer.

Photographers: Do you have an eye for capturing people, places and events? Shoot one of many Walk SF events including walks, press conferences, parties, and more; you can shoot just one event or lend your photography skills on an ongoing basis. Email us to volunteer.

Internships: Walk SF is seeking membership and outreach interns for Spring 2013. Interested in doing research? Email us a writing sample, your resume, interests, and time availability. Build your resume and get valuable hands-on experience in the non-profit field. Apply by email.
