The SF Stair Challenge

5 miles. 2,000 steps. 100% pure fun!

Are you up for the challenge?

Take on a unique, scenic physical challenge connecting some of San Francisco’s best stairways into one epic route!

The 2024 SF Stair Challenge is Saturday, May 4. The super secret route, crafted by our mastermind team of WalkLab volunteers, is a loop through the neighborhoods of Diamond Heights and Noe Valley. Coming in at five miles with about 2,000 stair steps, it’s full of picture postcard city views and tucked away hidden gems.

Run or race the route or hike it at a leisurely pace. Do it solo or with friends and family. Walk it your way! But just don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience.

GET YOUR TICKETS TO THE SF STAIR CHALLENGE!

All ticket proceeds go directly to Walk SF’s work to make San Francisco the safest, most pedestrian-friendly city in the United States.

About the SF Stair Challenge

Walk SF held the first-ever SF Stair Challenge last year on May 6 through the iconic neighborhoods of North Beach, Russian Hill, and Telegraph Hill. We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the event, which is why it is now an annual event! For a recap and photos of the inaugural day, check out our blog post.

Thank you for hosting us, San Francisco Recreation & Parks!
