What personal data we collect and why we collect it
By default WordPress (the content management system that this website is built on) does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users (such as website editors and administrators).
This site collects personal information only when a user submits one of our website forms.
We keep information submitted through our web forms indefinitely and use it solely for the purpose of contacting you regarding issues you’ve expressed interest in or related to your donation. We never share or sell any personal information with any third parties.
Forms
If you fill out the contact form, or another form on this site, we will collect your name, email, phone number and other basic contact information that you enter into the form. We collect this information solely for the purpose of contacting you at your request or to gather information specific to the form.
If you take action on our website (such as emailing an elected official or signing a petition), we will collect your name, email, address and postal code so your action can be sent along to its recipient/s and we can see the impact of our advocacy..
If you fill out our donation form, our online giving vendor Qgiv will collect your personal contact information such as name, email, phone number and billing address. We collect this information as part of our donation management process and use this information solely for the intended purpose of processing and acknowledging your donation.
Newsletter Sign-Up
If you choose to sign-up for our newsletter we will collect your name, email address (and optionally your mailing address) through our Newsletter service provider MailChimp. You may unsubscribe or opt-out of any newsletter mailing at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email.
Qgiv Donations
When you make a donation your payment information is sent directly to Qgiv, a secure donation payment processor. We do not collect or store your credit card information on this website or our website servers. Qgiv has its own privacy practices.

Event Ticket Sales
This site uses third party services to manage the sales and ticketing for special events. We link directly to these third party ticketing services for the ticket purchase process. These are separate websites and they each have their own privacy practices.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. All uploaded files are usually publicly accessible.

How long we retain your data
We keep contact form entries, donation form entries and analytics records indefinitely.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
