Dear Members of the SFMTA Board of Directors, Having safe space for walking and bicycling with social distancing is important for my health and the health of our entire city. I’m grateful to the City for launching the Slow Streets Program. I also believe Slow Streets is a solution we need not just during the coronavirus, but into the future. This approach supports making San Francisco a city where everyone can get around on foot and bicycle without fear of traffic violence. Plus, Slow Streets builds and strengthens our communities. I live in a neighborhood that does not yet have a Slow Street. Please continue to expand this program to meet needs for safe space and also make Slow Streets a long-term solution for our city.
