Planned Giving at Walk SF

Including Walk SF in your estate planning is a meaningful way to ensure you will continue making a difference in our community for years to come. Please consider leaving a legacy gift that will have a lasting impact on our safe streets movement.

Planned gifts can provide tax savings for you or your estate while supporting work that is important for the future of San Francisco. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. In addition to naming Walk SF in your will, IRAs, 401(k) plans, life insurance, deferred compensation plans and annuities can all be used to gift assets to Walk SF Foundation.

Below is suggested language to use when drafting your bequest. We encourage you to speak with your tax advisor about possible tax benefits of a Walk San Francisco Foundation legacy gift.

Sample Language for Leaving a Bequest to Walk San Francisco

For an unrestricted gift:

“I give to Walk San Francisco Foundation, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 2601 Mission Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94110, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”

To designate your provision for a particular purpose:

“I give to Walk San Francisco Foundation, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 2601 Mission Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94110, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purpose) if and so long as Walk San Francisco Foundation determines that the need exists. If Walk San Francisco Foundation shall determine at the outset or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists or for some reason it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, then Walk San Francisco Foundation may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”
