South of Market Speed Survey

Speed is the #1 cause of severe and fatal crashes in San Francisco – which means we need to take on speed in every possible way.
That’s what Walk SF’s Slow Our Streets campaign is all about. As part of the campaign in 2022 (and with your help!), we’re collecting speed data across the entire city. Read the recent San Francisco Chronicle article about the Slow Our Streets campaign and what speed surveys are all about.
You’re invited to join Walk SF in collecting speed data in the SoMa (South of Market) neighborhood.
Time: Wednesday, August 17 from 2:30 – 4:00PM
Location: We’ll meet at Victoria Manalo Draves Park (near the entrance at 57 Colombia Square ) for a short training. Then we’ll head out in groups of three to locations along SoMa streets.
We’ll provide everything needed – no prior knowledge or experience needed. This will involve standing for over 90 minutes, including approximately 20 minutes of walking. This event is completely outdoors.
