Walk San Francisco’s 13th annual Peak2Peak
This one-of-a-kind, 13 mile urban trek across 10 peaks, sells out every year — and it did again in 2016, for the fifth year running!
When you join Walk SF on Peak2Peak, you not only discover hidden stairways, explore new paths, and take in breath-taking vistas, you also meet people who share your passion to make walking in San Francisco safe for everyone, so our community is healthier and more livable.
The Route
The 13th annual Peak2Peak will offer participants a brand new, 2017 route that starts in the heart of the Financial District, and takes you through diverse neighborhoods including North Beach, Russian Hill, the Richmond, Haight Ashbury, and Alamo Square. Don’t miss the insider-only views along this one-of-a-kind urban trek, as you enjoy a mix of historical, architectural, and natural landscapes, including a secret spring, lesser known peaks, and the heights of Sutro.
Make Peak2Peak your social event of the season! Team up with friends and colleagues as Trailblazers (six person minimum) to walk together and show your support for Walk SF’s work to make San Francisco a safe, more enjoyable city for everyone. This year Walk SF’s expert route planners have mapped out an entirely new and exciting trek spanning the northern half of the city. Peak2Peak will begin in the Financial District and end at Alamo Square. Fuel up with some snacks and coffee before you head out on a what promises to be a fun and challenging route.
Start your Peak2Peak morning by trekking from FiDi to North Beach. Climb stairways and conquer Coit Tower before veering west. After scaling Nob Hill, enjoy the breathtaking views through Pacific Heights as part of this delightful adventure hike — then relax and savor a delicious picnic lunch in the Presidio. The second half takes you south through Lone Mountain to Golden Gate Park, before conquering a few more peaks and outstanding vistas, including the beautiful forests of Mt. Sutro. Then wind your way between Cole Valley and The Castro to head north again to enjoy some of San Francisco’s most beloved vista points.
Finally, you finish Peak2Peak with a celebration at Alamo Square, where you spend the end of an incredible day with stunning views of the bay and your route. Be sure to share your photos on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram (tag with @walksf and use the hashtag #peak2peaksf) as you enjoy a well-earned, FREE beer to toast our walkers and top Peak2Peak fundraisers on Rally.org.
