Join Walk SF at the Walk For Thought in the Presidio
Join Walk SF at the Presidio at the Walk For Thought on Saturday April 2!
Bonus: All participants and volunteers will receive 20% off at the Presidio Sports Basement on the day of the event!
About the walk: The Walk For Thought raises funds and awareness for the Brain Injury Association of California (BIACal) and to Walk SF, the walk’s local partner. After welcomes and opening remarks from Senator Leland Yee, participants–many of whom have suffered brain injuries and some of whom are in wheelchairs–will make their way along a one-mile course around Crissy Field.
Update: we’ve got all the volunteers we need, but you can still sign up to participate in the walk, or just show up Saturday morning before 9!
Volunteers will need to arrive at Sports Basement at the Presidio at 8:30 a.m. Walk SF volunteers will help participants cross the street safely during the walk, hand out Walk SF brochures afterward, and do general support as needed. The event will be over by 1:00.
It should be a beautiful day out at Crissy Field and a good reminder of the importance of making our streets safer for everyone. Find out more about BIACal and the Walk For Thought.
Special member note: John Alex Lowell, a long-time Walk SF member, is helping to organize this event. Ten years ago this Tuesday, while crossing the street in downtown SF, John was hit by a car and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Today, John is an outspoken pedestrian activist whose vigor and humor inspire us all. Support John’s walk by visiting his page.
