Vigil on May 3 for Galina Alterman and all who have died walking and biking this year
We cannot stand by passively as lives are lost so brutally in preventable crashes.
Tomorrow, May 3 from 6:00-7:00PM, we will hold a vigil for Galina Alterman and all nine people who have died while walking and biking this year on San Francisco’s streets.
Galina Alterman, age 77, was hit on May 1, 2019 at Divisadero and Sutter; she died from her injuries this morning. The vigil will be held at the site of the crash. Please bring flowers if you can. We will meet at the northeast corner.
The frequency of traffic deaths on our streets this year is distressing. If things continue at this rate, San Francisco’s goal of Vision Zero will slip out of sight. This cannot happen.
Please join us in grieving these precious lives lost – and shining the brightest possible light on the crisis on our streets.
