Sunday 3/13: Watershed ThinkWalk

 In Uncategorized

Join Walk SF this Sunday as Joel Pomerantz from ThinkWalks takes us on a tour of the changing San Francisco landscape around the Laguna Honda watershed. Get a “Cadillac Desert”-style look at how water and development have shaped each other and shaped San Francisco history.

Sunday, March 13th
1pm – 3pm
Set your own cost: $10 to $40 donation asked. Half of your donation will go to Walk SF.
RSVP required to 415-505-8255 or tours@thinkwalks.org
(Tour will max out so please do RSVP)

The walk will be a leisurely ramble for one mile through Golden Gate Park connecting Laguna Honda to Stow Lake, with frequent stops to fill in the historical picture. Dress warmly!

With historical photos and maps, we’ll see how the Twin Peaks valleys once met the dunes of Golden Gate Park, how dramatically the landscape has changed, and where all that water comes from to turn dunes to lush greenery. Come away with a deeper understanding of the waterways that define our San Francisco landscape.

Meet at the Garden for the Environment at 7th & Lawton at 1:00pm. Again, please RSVP first. The 2-hour walk will end at the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
