Community Advocacy

Walk San Francisco Vision Zero Advocacy by CCDC Youth at SFMTA Board MeetingIf you live and/or work in San Francisco and want to speak up for safer, better streets and more walkable neighborhoods, join Walk San Francisco as a Community Advocate.

Share your passion and lend your voice to promote safe, active transportation options, social justice for underserved communities, and better health access for every one. Learn about the policies, improvement plans, and transit projects that affect the city’s traffic and safety conditions.

Support Walk SF in working with city agencies, elected officials, residents, and businesses, to win policy change and on-the-ground improvements to reclaim streets as shared public spaces for everyone to enjoy. Take action by spreading the word, signing petitions, writing emails, or giving public comment/testimony at workshops, open houses, meetings and hearings.

To volunteer as a Community Advocate, contact Walk SF or apply to join one of the City’s Community Advisory Committees (CACs).

CAC members help plan for future improvements to San Francisco’s streets and transportation systems by providing feedback and recommendations.

Information about CAC member roles, open positions, and application procedures are available for the following:
