Pedestrian projects create more jobs!

A new report by the League of American Bicyclists, based on a study of Baltimore street repairs, found that for every $1 million in spending, road construction projects create only 7 jobs while pedestrian projects create over 11 jobs: check it out here.

President Obama’s State of the Union speech highlighted transportation investments such as high-speed rail; now we see that investments in walking and biking can generate near-term economic improvement in addition to long-term sustainability.
