Join Walk SF for a special monthly walk: an after-work event that will include a walk audit. This is a great chance to see Walk SF advocacy in action, learn how walk audits work, and help shape city plans.
We’ll explore Ocean Avenue from Unity Plaza to the Balboa Park BART and Muni station, taking a look at current pedestrian conditions and discussing potential improvements. Walk SF is co-hosting the event along with SFMTA (SF Municipal Transportation Agency), other city agencies, BART staff, and the Balboa Reservoir Community Partners development team.
There are opportunities for big changes here as the City considers the proposed Balboa Reservoir development, whose 17 acres would include 550 affordable homes, 550 market-rate homes, 4 acres of open space, and a child-care center — all as part of a more walkable and transit-friendly neighborhood.
With your help, this walk audit will result in the City prioritizing pedestrian improvements here. We hope to transform the area for a safer and more pleasant experience for the thousands of people who walk and roll to the Balboa Park station, one of the busiest transit hubs in San Francisco.
When: Thursday, May 17, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Unity Plaza, 1002-1040 Ocean Avenue
Info: Free for Walk SF members, or $10 minimum donation; RSVP (required) here
