Help Walk SF win these campaigns:
Safer speeds around San Francisco schools:
San Francisco has established new 15-mph safe speed zones around all the city’s schools! This will help kids walk to school safely and calm traffic around over 180 schools throughout the entire city.
Calling for implementation of the City’s new Pedestrian Strategy:
Walk SF worked with Mayor Lee on his new Pedestrian Strategy, setting out clear commitments and timelines to encourage walking and protect pedestrians. In San Francisco, 800 people are hit by cars every year; 100 people are seriously injured or killed. If we want to fight climate change and improve public health, we need to make it safer and more fun to walk. There’s no time to wait. Help Walk SF make sure the new plan is funded and implemented, to fix 5 miles per year of the city’s most dangerous streets.
Safer streets in underserved communities:
It’s time to prioritize the redesign of the city’s most dangerous streets, especially in places like the Tenderloin and South of Market, where seniors and low-income people are at greatest risk.
Fighting for pedestrian rights:
We’re watchdogging developments and plans, and demanding more enforcement of traffic laws that protect pedestrians.
